Uncovering the Hidden Secrets of the Shropshire Union Canal by Narrowboat
Carved through cuttings and riding embankments, we are uncovering the hidden secrets of the Shropshire Union Canal by narrowboat. We leave Norbury Junction, the old Newport Branch stretching out towards Shrewsbury. On our way south we pass through Gnosall, Wheaton Aston and Brewood, uncovering the hidden secrets along the canal including the Belvide Reservoir and an abandoned second-world-war airfield near Little Onn. We moor at Three-Mile Post, almost at the end of the canal and make plans for where we go next.
