The Union Canal collapsed and washed away the railway!
After a once in a 240-year storm, 12,500mᶟ of floodwater caused the Union Canal in Scotland to collapse, draining over 30 miles of canal and losing 75,000mᶟ of water. The catastrophic collapse also washed away a 300m section of the Glasgow to Edinburgh railway line.
